The School Council met to discuss a fundraising opportunity. On Friday 8th May, we will be raising money for the Birmingham Children’s Hospital, which is a hospital that helps many children. Eddie, from Class 3, is doing a fun-run for this charity as a way to say thank you for the fantastic treatment he has received at this hospital. If your child chooses to come in their own clothes for the day, we kindly request a donation of £1.00.

School Council will be meeting on Thursday morning to discuss the new Difference and Diversity curriculum. We have been enjoying lots of lessons and fun activities, as we have completed the first unit this half term. School Council would like to provide a pupil voice to evaluate our learning and measure the impact of the activities. We may also come up with some new ideas for the next units in the future.Look out for any news on the School Council Board.

Today we visited Wood Lane Primary School with Mrs Procter and Miss Parry to look at the use of Learn Pads within the classroom. The Meadows has already researched the use of these and the staff are very excited about how they can used to make the lessons even more interactive. We were asked to go along also to see how other children were using them and try them out for ourselves. We used our thinking hats to reflect upon the visit.

Hi everyone! The school council and a working party have been extremely busy this week, putting together the shoe boxes for 'Operation Christmas Child'. They have wrapped them beautifully. They have put items in as appropriate and labelled them up according to gender and age. They have done a super job and have been an excellent team. Thank you once again for your generosity.

Today School Council have hosted a whole school assembly introducing the new School Council members. We have discussed the role of the School Council and the responsibilities and qualities of the members. We also talked about Operation Christmas Child and asked for suitable donations. Details can be found in a letter sent home tonight which has been written by two school Council Members with the help of Mrs Davies. If you would like to see a change in school or have an idea for a school project, do not hesitate to go and speak to your class councillor!
