Feedback Friday

It is surprising how quickly Friday comes around each week! We have had another brilliant busy week in Class 1.

In maths this week, we have been learning about time, sequencing our school day and playing What time is it Mr Wolf in which we have been looking at o'clocks!

Hello everybody.

Friday already! In reception, we have had a very busy week. We have been learning new sounds f ff l ll ss and have been using all of our sounds to blend in our reading and segmenting to spell and write words. We are getting very good now! We have been finding 1 less and also taking away with our counters and cubes.

Good morning everyone,

As we enter a second lockdown and things are very different and quite stressful for us grown ups, it is a pleasure to work with the children in Reception. It is such a happy, busy and vibrant place to be. All of the children have settled back in very well after our half term break.

This week we have been practising our counting and comparing numbers using the five frames, cubes and Numicon. We have been completing our maths journals and being curious like our maths character Ash!

Good morning everybody.

We have enjoyed another busy week in Class 1! The children are really settling into routine now. It is lovely to see them all come into school with a smile, put away their own belongings and start their early work with very few reminders!

Every Friday, Reception would like to show you what we have been learning. This week we have been very busy again! We have been reading using our phonics. We have had some new pocket books in school and we enjoyed saying our sounds and blending the sounds together to read.

Our first week at The Meadows

This week, the Reception children have been to school full time every day and they have loved it! They have settled into the full school day so quickly. They have adapted very well to seperating from parents and carers. Well done to the parents too. I know it is with mixed emotions that we say goodbye when our child starts school! We have already begun to learn some letters and sounds, had a try at writing and have been reading books together too.

Stay and Play

We have really enjoyed our Stay and Play sessions here at The Meadows. We have been playing and exploring in our new environment and making new friends. We have got to know our teachers and have met Mrs Procter too. When asked about starting school on Monday this is what we said:
