Wedding surprises

Today all the children joined together to wish Miss Parry their best wishes on her forthcoming marriage.  To her surprise we held a special assembly. Members of staff dressed  Miss Parry as a 1950s style housewife and shared some great tips with her about being a housewife - 1950s style!! The children certainly realised that a lot has changed since then. It was good fun and we all shared lots of laughter.

We then had a wedding photo quiz. The members of staff  brought in their own wedding photos , many of which date back nearly 20 years!  We cut out the faces, so Miss Parry had to guess by the choice of dresses and bouquets. One or two proved quite tricky. My red bouquet was of course a huge give away.

The children helped to make lots of wedding decorations and we have all shared wedding cakes. Our very own talented and tremendously creative cake maker, Louisa in Y6 was chosen to make the main cake. As you can see it looked amazing and she has taken a great deal of time with the decorations. It tasted delicious too. It was a chocolate sponge cake with fresh strawberries. To make it even more of a challenge, it was gluten free too!

We played the traditional "Here Comes The Bride" music for Miss Parry to practise her entrance.

Thank you to all the children for dressing up today, you all looked amazing.

So we say goodbye to Miss Parry and we look forward to welcoming Mrs Edwards in the new term.
