Hot Chocolate Science Homework

I have been delighted with the Science homework that some children in Class 2 have brought in this week. They have been working hard over Christmas to complete an investigation about how the temperature of hot chocolate affects how marshmellows melt.

The children have applied their Scientific enquiry skills really well to plan a fair test and make really careful observations at different time intervals or different temperatures. They were able to use scientific vocabulary when writing investigation reports and decide what would be the only thing they would change then what would need to stay the same. There were some interesting results from which conclusions were drawn. Some people even decided to do more than one test, including 'Does the size of the marshmellow affect its melting time?' or 'Does it melt quicker if dunked under the drink?".
