Surprise Parcel Delivered to Class 4 1st Dec 2017

Today we had a surprise delivery to Class 4: it was a medium sized parcel with a letter attached to it. When we opened the envelope, we discovered that we had received a letter from Santa.

We decided, as a class, that we wanted to solve the Maths challenges in order to open the parcel as we were very intrigued about the contents of the box. Could it be a gift? If so, what would it be? We were also surprised that Santa obviously knows everything: how did he know that we had been studying measures over the past week? We decided that he obviously knows everything and is always watching therefore we didn’t want to risk opening the box without completing the challenges in case it meant that we would be placed on the naughty list for Christmas!

Therefore we set about completing the Maths challenges set. I was exceptionally impressed with how well the children applied their knowledge in these problems.

Once we had found the answers out, we opened the box and found a Christmas elf and some delicious chocolate coins for each one of us! They were delivered around our Class by our special visitor Charlotte (who was in Y6 last year and now goes to Sandbach School). Her school is on INSET today so she has come in this morning to help us out with our learning.

After a class vote, we named the elf Jeff. He is going to help us with our countdown to Christmas and will set us challenges in our learning every day.

We just hope he doesn’t get up to too much mischief around the school!
